Patoranking – A Nigerian Reggae-Dancehall Sensation…

Patoranking, whose real name is Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter who has made a significant impact on the Nigerian and African music scene. He was born on May 27, 1990, in Ijegun-Egba, Lagos State, Nigeria.

Patoranking’s journey into the music industry began in the early 2000s when he started as a street jam and carnival dancer. However, his passion for music led him to start writing and recording his songs. He initially performed under the stage name “Patoranking,” which he derived from combining the word “Patrol” (a brand of motorcycle) with his first name, Patrick.

In 2010, Patoranking gained recognition with the release of his debut single, “So Nice (Acoustic),” which caught the attention of Nigerian music enthusiasts. He continued to build his reputation in the music industry by collaborating with various artists and releasing singles that showcased his unique blend of reggae, dancehall, and Afrobeat influences.

Patoranking’s breakthrough came in 2013 with the release of his hit single “Alubarika” featuring Timaya. The song received widespread airplay and became an anthem in Nigeria, introducing Patoranking to a broader audience. Following the success of “Alubarika,” Patoranking signed a record deal with Foston Musik and released several other hit singles, including “Girlie O,” “My Woman, My Everything,” and “Daniella Whine,” which further solidified his status as one of Nigeria’s top reggae-dancehall artists.

In 2015, Patoranking released his debut studio album titled “God Over Everything” (GOE), which featured collaborations with notable artists such as Sarkodie, Wizkid, and Olamide. The album received positive reviews and spawned hit tracks like “No Kissing Baby,” “Another Level,” and “This Kind Love.” “God Over Everything” showcased Patoranking’s versatility as an artist and his ability to infuse different musical styles into his reggae-dancehall sound.

Since the release of his debut album, Patoranking has remained a dominant force in the Nigerian music industry, consistently releasing chart-topping singles and collaborating with both local and international artists. He has won several awards and nominations, including the MTV Africa Music Award for Best New Act in 2015 and multiple nominations at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) and The Headies.

Patoranking’s impact extends beyond music; he has also been involved in philanthropy, using his platform to advocate for social change and support various charitable causes in Nigeria and across Africa. Patoranking continues to thrive in the music industry, and his influence as a reggae-dancehall artist remains strong both in Nigeria and internationally.

His last album release was titled “World Best“. One of the tracks that made waves from that album is Babylon, which featured Victony.
