Tiwa Savage – Nigerian Music Diva

Tiwa Savage is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actress who has risen to become one of the leading figures in the Nigerian and African music industry. Born Tiwatope Savage on February 5, 1980, in Isale Eko, Lagos State, Nigeria, she began her music career in the United States, where she worked as a backup vocalist for artists like Mary J. Blige and George Michael.

Tiwa Savage’s breakthrough came with her debut single “Kele Kele Love” in 2010, which garnered widespread attention and established her as a rising star in the Nigerian music scene. She followed up with hit singles like “Love Me (3x)” and “Without My Heart,” featuring Don Jazzy, further solidifying her status as one of Nigeria’s most promising talents.

In 2013, Tiwa Savage signed a recording contract with Mavin Records, one of Nigeria’s leading record labels, founded by renowned producer Don Jazzy. Under Mavin Records, she released her debut studio album titled “Once Upon a Time,” which featured hit singles such as “Eminado” featuring Don Jazzy and “If I Start to Talk” featuring Dr. Sid.

Tiwa Savage’s music is characterized by its eclectic blend of Afrobeats, R&B, pop, and hip-hop influences, as well as her soulful vocals and captivating stage presence. She has collaborated with numerous artists both in Nigeria and internationally, including Wizkid, P-Square, and Rihanna.
