The old beef between two Reggae/Dancehall artists, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, has rekindled to a different level. The Ghanaian music industry has witnessed several beefs that happened between and among artists but that of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale hits very hard.
Recently, there was an accusation that Shatta Wale had mocked Stonebwoy for having a problem with one of his leg while walking. Shatta Wale at a recent performance on stage, paused everything and decided to walk like a cripple in a jovial manner on stage.
Another instance is a skit of Shatta Wale that went very viral when he gave a cripple walk to allegedly mimic Kumasi-based popular skit maker, Asafo Powers.
Many people have analyzed and criticized Shatta Wale for being indifferent about his brother’s disability and mocking him. Shatta Wale has, however, refuted claims that he has not in any way made fun of Stonebwoy but it was such a common trend that he also jumped on it.
Shatta Wale in a viral video, was seen very offended when he said Stonebwoy refused to show up at a show; they were both on the list and said hypocrites would say he was the one always staging beefs.
The brouhaha caused many influential people in the entertainment industry to call on the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled to call on Shatta Wale to render an apology to them.
An official statement released by the society on April 15, 2024, has ordered Shatta Wale to render his apology to the Disabled Society for carrying out public mockery.
“In the said video, Shatta Wale said, among other statements, ‘you are a bad person; that is why God made you a disabled person, you are a disabled person, don’t try and fight an able person.’
By this statement, he is trying to say that all people with disabilities are bad, that is why God has made us who we are.
“This primitive statement should not have come from a high-profile personality like Shatta Wale. This act is irresponsible and it should be condemned by all.
“We want to remind Shatta Wale that a section of his own fans who are making him who he is are people with disabilities. Did he think about how they would feel? Or he thinks he has made it, so he does not care?
“The GSPD takes exception to this statement and asks Shatta Wale to retract his statement, remove such video from social media and apologise to all persons with disability and Ghanaians,” the group said.

Many celebrities have jumped on the ongoing brouhaha between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale following an allegation that the latter has mocked the former for being a cripple.
Shatta Wale has ranted on social media recently and reigned insults on the media for spreading false information about him. He revealed that the media didn’t see what Stonebwoy did when he decided not to share the same stage with him (Shatta Wale) but had turned to paint him black on the issue.
He also reiterated that he does not need Ghanaian media to shine in his music journey recently, something he has said on several occasions.
After Stonebwoy did not show up at the ‘Sala Festival’ at Abeka, Shatta Wale felt offended by his acts and since then has taken to social media to express his disappointment in the act Stonebwoy showed.
Ghanaian socialite Ayisha Modi has joined the conversation and uttered some words regarding Shatta Wale. According to Ayisha Modi, she does not know why Shatta Wale wanted to share the same stage with a BET Winner and a Grammy Nominee.
She disclosed that Shatta Wale, as at now, cannot even take care of his mother and should not insult Stonebwoy’s late mother.
“Kwasia boy insulting someone’s dead mother while you can’t even feed or take care of your living mother. You just keep fooling and bring yourself wai.” She commented.
