Top 10 songs from Africa

The plethora of talents in African music scene is vast, and the competition to stay top is very tight. Due to that, artistes continue to release back-to-back bangers. Here is the list of my biggest release of the year so far;

 

1. “Twe Twe” by Kizz Daniel – This song is making so much wave, that it is like a wildfire in the harmattan. One thing that has also aided the popularity of the song is the TikTok dance craze attached to it.”

2. “Dah” by Nandy featuring Alikiba has become an instant hit right from the release of its audio. Nandy has since released the visuals for the song, which has made the song not just endearing in Tanzania but a catchy tune for anyone that hears the track. This Tanzanian beauty has such alluring voice that it just captivates you soon as you hear her song.

3. Huu Mwaka by Dayoo, the song has become an instant hit in Tanzania. The featuring of Rayvanny on the track was also a very wise decision that also served to add a very unique style to the track. The message of the track also resounds very well with the generation.

4. “Run Away” by Khaid featuring Gyakie from Ghana, has been making waves in Ghana, Nigeria and Tanzania most especially. The vocal to the song is just so sweet especially when Gyakie drops in, the visuals are also very cool. Sometimes all a track needs to make it a hit is the right feature.

5. “Asante” by Otile Brown and Rayvanny the song has a nice groove to it, and very soothing song. The song is performing very well on chats across the continent.

6. “CAN 2024 Chauffez” by Fior 2 Bior featuring Lil Jay Bingerack, was one of the theme songs for Africa’s biggest footballing showpiece the Cup of nations recently ended in Cote D’Ivoire, with the host country triumphing. The platform the song allowed the song to be widely played and gain a lot of popularity worldwide.

7. “Umechelewa” by Mboso from Tanzania on His Album of the same name. The song first gained widespread popularity in his country of release before quickly spreading out into other East African countries with its catchy vibes. It’s safe to say that the song will make Mboso lots of money, with people likely to invite the artiste over for lots of performances and showcase because of it.

8. “January 9th” by Black Sherif. Blacko has become a musical sensation globally and fans always eagerly anticipate his track releases. The “Kweku the Traveller” hit maker has become a household name after breaking into the mainstream less than a decade ago and has consistently released banger after banger. He didn’t fail yet again with his first release of the year, becoming a song for the moment right upon release.

9. En Kabato by Black K. When there is attention on your side of the world, you do something big, so you remain in the minds of people, and that’s exactly what Black K did. His song release came at the time when virtually the whole world had its eye on Cote D’Ivoire, for the AFCON. He saw the opportunity and took full advantage by releasing a banger.

10. “Asiwaju” by Ruger. Ruger seems not to be slowing down anytime soon. Seems like he has decided to drop a banger virtually every other month of late. This year has really begun well for him with the release of another banger from. The song is not only enjoying airplay in Nigeria only but worldwide.

These artists represent a variety of genres within the African music scene, including Afrobeat, Bongo Flava, Afropop, and Afro-fusion, and their songs have enjoyed significant success both within Africa and internationally.
