Sarkodie has made headlines after the release of his controversial banger, ‘Brag‘, from the camp of his ‘Championship’ mixtape.
Michael Owusu Addo, widely known as Sarkodie, has caused a stir between Ghana and Nigeria following the release of his ‘Brag’ that has undermined Nigerian rappers and singers, as purported.
Sarkodie disclosed in the song that Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole are his only competitors, and Wizkid and Davido all came to meet him at the top of the music ladder.
The shades thrown by Sarkodie at Nigerian top-notched artists Davido and Wizkid have caused a continuous debate between Nigerian and Ghanaians about who is the king of African rap.
Davido replied to Sarkodie’s jabs thrown at Nigerian artists by highlighting that Nigerian rapper Dremo has got more punch lines than Sarkodie. In the series of events, Dremo has dropped a diss song to Sarkodie whom according to Dremo claims to be the best rapper via Davido’s recommendation.
Many Nigerian and Ghanaian artists have joined the conversation throwing jabs at each other following Sarkodie’s controversial lines in his “Brag” song.
However, Davido has been referred to a post he made about 13 years ago affirming Sarkodie as the best rapper in Africa, which read, “OMO NO ONE IN DIS WORLD FIT TEST @Sarkodie HE WILL FINISH U!!!!! BIG UPS GHANA WILL BE DER SUMTIME DIS YR!!!”.
Many have trolled Davido for making such a post about Sarkodie and recommending a young rapper challenge him on behalf of Nigerians.
Many Ghanaian artists, such as Medikal, Lyrical Joe, CJ Biggerman, Manifest, and other celebrities, have backed Sarkodie in his statements.
Other Nigerian artists are also yet to respond to Sarkodie and Ghana.
