MOG Music has decided to move away from declaring whether he supports or does not support the LGBTQ movement. Nana Yaw Boakye, popularly known as MOG Music, has stated on UTV’s United Showbiz Show that a lot of people look up to him in society, and for that matter, he does not want to involve himself in anything that would damage his reputation.

MOG Music revealed that if he were to declare his stand, it would carry a different meaning to the public, and if surely the public reveals or knows his stand about the LGBT community, he would be subjected to criticism, which he is moving away from.

He, however, stated that his position on the bill can be known privately but is not something he can put in the public domain, which might lead to an attack on him.

“With this issue [the anti-LGBT+ Bill], I will plead the fifth because of my work as a gospel musician. I am saying this to protect my image and brand. If I speak for or against it, people would have something to say, so I would rather be silent on it. I can speak about my stance on the issue privately but not on air,” MOG Music told MzGee, the host.

As all eyes are set on the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Daquah Akuffo Addo, to approve the passage of the Promotion of Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, tension has mounted in the atmosphere over whether the bill will be accepted or not.

The bill has it that those involved in these practices would face 6 months to 3 years in prison, and those who promote the acts would also face a five year jail term.
