Ghanaian musician and entrepreneur Guru has finally revealed the secret behind the alleged misunderstanding he was tagged to be having with rapper Teephlow. Teephlow accused Guru of robbing him of an opportunity to shine in 2021; this has caused Guru to explain what actually led to the accusations against him in a recent interview.

In a hot interview with Accra FM, Guru recalled, however, that he discovered Teephlow as a young, talented guy studying at the University of Cape Coast (UCC). Guru mentioned that it was just a miscommunication that came through between them that was able to generate that kind of hatred.

“I discovered him when I was a young guy, studying at UCC (University of Cape Coast), who was picking up, and I was like, ‘Yo, let me put this young guy on.”

“We met and had a conversation, but the prelude to the signing failed. At the time, the Alkayida music style was in fashion, and everyone was doing it. He did some, and I also did the same. Suddenly he felt what he had done was what I was also copying.” Guru said.

Guru disclosed that it was the ‘Alkayida’ song that both of them did that caused some sort of misunderstanding between them.

“His expectations couldn’t work out while mine did. Therefore, there were mixed feelings, and whenever he saw me, it felt as though there was a pending issue – it didn’t make sense.” Guru added.
He stated that he admires Teephlow’s talent and he is a big fan of Teephlow and do not hold any grudge against his fellow artist.

“I listen to his rap, and when Da Hammer put him on, I was very happy. And he was doing so well, and currently, it appears, he is in the US. To me, it’s a bad idea because he peaked and was rising. Now, if he returns, he would have to start all over again.” Guru clarified.
